Do I need previous experience in coding?
Absolutely not! We will begin from the basics of coding, and progress to building our own mobile apps with MIT App Inventor. Although students of all skills levels are welcome, those with no previous exposure to coding are especially encouraged to join.

What will I learn in the CodeHer Workshops?

Participants will be taught the fundamentals of coding in Python – one of the most in demand and popular programming languages. Some concepts covered in classes will include: Data types, Selection statements, Iteration, and Lists. Through hands-on workshops, students will also explore real-world applications of coding by building their own mobile apps with MIT App Inventor.

What devices and software will I need?
It is recommended that all students have access to a laptop or a desktop computer. After registration, students will receive detailed instructions on how to download and install the free Python software.

I am already advanced in programming. How can I get involved?

Sign up to become a CodeHer mentor! We are always looking for more mentors so that we can provide individual attention to each of our participants. As a mentor, your job will be to review lesson plans before each class, supervise smaller breakout rooms, and guide students through making their final project.
